The advice and assessment process will be delivered at the Candidates place of work - Advisor and Assessor visits will be by prior arrangement and made so as to minimise any disruption in the work place. The Candidates Line Manager will be included in the process through a Management Development Agreement

• This initial stage of the process involves working with an Advisor to review the Candidates work role and experience, after which the appropriate level of qualification can be determined
• To achieve a full certificate in Advice & Guidance the candidate will be required to complete 4 mandatory units
• Unit 3: Develop interactions with advice & guidance clients
• Unit 14: Manage personal case load
• Unit 16: Evaluate and develop own contribution to the service
• Unit 18: Operate within networks
• and 4 optional units
• Unit 2: Support clients to make use of the advice & guidance service - Unit 5: Assist advice & guidance clients to decide on a course of action
• Unit 6: Prepare clients for the implementation of a course of action - Unit 7: Assist clients to review their achievement of a course of action
• Unit 8: Advocate on behalf of clients - Unit 9: Prepare to represent clients in formal proceedings
• Unit 10: Present cases for clients in formal proceedings - Unit 11: Negotiate on behalf of clients
• Unit 12: Liaise with other services - Unit 13: Enable clients to access referral opportunities
• Unit 17: Provide support for other practitioners - Unit 19: Undertake research for the service and its clients
• Unit 20: Design information materials for use in the service - Unit 21: Provide and maintain information materials to use in the service
• Unit 22: Promote the position of Careers Education Guidance (CEG) within the organisation - Unit 23: Identify the contribution of CEG to the achievements and values of the organisation
• Unit 24: Integrate CEG within the curriculum - Unit 25: Promote CEG within the community
• Unit 26: Negotiate and maintain service agreements - Unit 27: Facilitate learning in groups
• Unit 28: Prepare and set up mediation - Unit 29: Stage the mediation
• Unit 30: Manage the process of mediation - Unit 334: Promote a safe and positive working environment
• Unit 333: Enable learning through demonstrations and instruction
